"World Record" chain letter. Kids (1986). Four names on envelope. Six copies. US, 2001.

Australian children started this chain letter in 1986. If it doesn't
get broken by the year 2001, it will be in the Guiness Book of World
Records. So far no one has broken it.  Copy this letter 6 times and send
it to kids only, so kids will do the longest chain letter.

You must mail it because the post office is keeping track of it.  You
must put your name on the back of the envelope.  Before you mail it,
write on the front, "Post Office: This is the official Guiness Book of
World Records chain letter."

Re-write all the names on the back of the envelope except #1 ,
move all the names up so that #3 because #2, etc...You should put your
name as #4.  YOU ONLY HAVE 4 DAYS TO DO THIS OR THIS
CHAIN WILL BE BROKEN!!!!!  This is not one of those nasty or stupid
chain letter.  We are trying to break a world record.

                                           THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. This chain letter was started in 1986 So you don't want to be
the one to break it.

Late generation (smeared) photocopy of word processor original.   Lines preserved here.  No envelope provided. Sent to D. VanArsdale with note "My 10 year old daughter received this on Aug. 17, 2001."  Sic "#3 because #2" (probably a spell check miscorrection for "becomes").  Provided by Thomas Waldron, California.
