This chain was started to bring prosperity back to you. Within three (3) days make five (5) copies of this letter leaving the top name off and add your own name and address at the bottom of the list; then mail to five of [second page] your friends to whom you wish prosperity to come.

In omitting the top name send the person 10¢ wrapped in paper as a donation, in turn as your name leaves the top list you will receive 15,625 letters with donations amounting to $1562.50  now is this not worth a dime to you?

Have faith. Your friend had and this chain will not be broken.

Hand written in black ink on both sides of a 5 by 8 inch sheet of lined paper. Probably mailed in envelope postmarked on May 22, 1935 in Heimdal, N. Dak. Addressed to Miss Elma Bergrud, Heimdal, No. Dak. No return address. Two cent stamp used (old in-town rate). Reformatted here. Supplied by Russ Hornbacher of Fessenden, ND to VanArsdale.
