Good Luck Prayer
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart in all ways,
and acknowledge His presence, and He will direct thy path.
This prayer has been sent to you for good luck. The
one who breaks it will have bad luck.
Send this letter and four others within twenty-five
hours to people whom you wish good luck. The letter said no money
was involved. " Insert your name at the bottom of the list and remove
the top name."

14, col. 2). A housewife, Mrs. Roth, sent Boris Pasternak a chain letter
that she received on March 13 (Friday the thirteenth). He returned the letter
with a brief comment: "It is not the habit in the USSR to make circulate such
sendings, but I won't break the chain and so I return immediately the text
of the Prayer to you to forward it in other directions." Pasternak added his
name to the bottom of the list and crossed out the top name. Mrs. Roth sent
other copies to her 14 year old niece and three celebrities.
