Luck chain letter (postcard).  Blind13.  "... have mercy on our boy in service and bless our mother."  US, 1945.
Oh Lord, have mercy on our boy in service and bless our mother. I ask in the name of the Lord. This prayer must be sent all over the world. Copy and send it to 13 persons and on the 13th day happiness will come to your house. One lady made fun of it and on the 13th day she went blind. Do not let the prayer die in your house. It was sent to me and I am sending it on to you.

"Chain letters of this kind appear every now and then. They are often started by people who are just a little bit 'cracked' but not quite 'nuts.' So, if you like 'cracked nuts,' we know what you are doing with the chain letter. Remember just a few years ago, when most of us thought we were going to become rich with the twenty-five cents chain letter!"     Entered by DWV, Aug. 24, 2014.
