Parody chain letter (mimeographed). Wife exchange. "a
smile on his face for the first time in years." U.S., 1953.
May 29,
1953
Dear Friend:
This chain letter was started by a man like yourself in the
hope of bringing relief and happiness to tired
men.
Unlike most
chain letters this does not cost any money,
simply send a copy of this letter to
five of your men friends who
are equally tired then bundle your
wife up and send her to the
man whose name is at the top of the
list and add your own
name to the bottom of it.
When your
name comes to the top of the list, you will
receive 16478 women and some of them
will be dandies.
Have faith,
don't break the chain. One man broke the chain
and got his old woman back.
Sincerely yours,
PS At the date of this writing, a friend
of mine received
183 women, they buried him yesterday
and everyone said he had
a smile on his face for the first time
in years.
Originally typed and
probably mimeographed (blue ink). On unlined 8.5 x 11 inch paper. No envelope.
Ebay lot 5505973146, closed 7/10/2004. Entered by DWV on 7/15/04.
